Conch Piercing

1. The piercer will discuss your desired piercing, it's placement, and potential jewelry options. They may also assess the area to ensure it's suitable for piercing.
2. The piercer will clean the area with antiseptic solution to minimize the risk of infection.
3. The piercer will mark the precise location where the piercing will be placed. This allows you to revise and approve the placement before the actual piercing.
4. The piercer will use a piercing needle to create a hole in the marked area.
5. Once the holes is made, the piercer will immediately insert the chosen jewelry into the piercing.
6. After the piercing is complete, the piercer will provide you with aftercare instructions. It's crucial to follow aftercare instructions carefully to promote proper healing and minimize the risk of complications.

Here are the guideline to care for your conch piercing:
1. Avoid sleeping on the side of the new piercing to prevent unnecessary pressure.
2. Minimize touching the piercing, especially with unwashed hands, to prevent the introduction of bacteria.
3. Use a saline solution to clean the piercing site once a day.
4. Keep your hair away from the piercing, and be cautious with clothing that might snag on the jewelry.
5. Avoid removing the earrings during the initial healing period, which can vary but typically lasts for 6-9 months.
6. Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water until the piercing is fully healed.
7. Consult with your piecer if you notice any bump, irritation, infection or any feeling of deep discomfort. Follow up as needed.

A conch piercing typically takes about 6-9 months to fully heal. However, individual healing times can vary based on factors such as your body's response to healing, aftercare practices, and overall health. Even after the initial healing period, continue to practice good ear piercing hygiene and avoid changing jewelry too soon to prevent irritation. Remember that cartilage piercing, like conch piercing, tend to have a longer healing time compared to piercing in softer tissue.
