The ear is commonly pierced in various sections. These are some of the most popular ear piercings:

- Lobe: This is the lower section of the ear and is the most commonly pierced area.

- Helix: Positioned in the upper cartilage of the ear.

- Forward Helix: This piercing is located on the curve of the outer ear.

- Rook: Located in the cartilage of the upper ear, this piercing is vertical and allows the rings and curved balls to face downward.

- Daith: Located within the inner fold above the ear canal, this piercing is between the rook and tragus. It is usually forward facing, allowing the stones to be visible.

- Tragus: Positioned on the outer cartilage area above the lobe, it is the harder section of the ear on the side of your face.

- Antitragus: This piercing is located in the outer cartilage area, opposite to the tragus piercing, in the triangular flap above the lobe.

- Conch: This middle section of the ear can be pierced on the inner or outer portion of the ear. The inner conch is located in the lower cartilage, while the outer conch is positioned in the upper area of the cartilage.
